5 steg till en hållbar garderob och för att hitta din personliga stil

5 steps to a sustainable wardrobe and finding your personal style

1. Take inventory of your wardrobe

Start by reviewing what you already have:

Lay everything out on the bed, clear out the clothes you don't use: mend, sell, give away, save for the kids... Then hang back your favorites and what you use daily. Analyze these clothes, these are probably your basics and show what you like.

Identify which garments are truly YOU! What is it that you love about these garments? The material, the color, the patterns, the silhouette, the style?

2. Prepare for renewal

Make a list of your new wardrobe and what's missing. Then, when you start looking for new clothes: focus on timeless, well-made pieces in sustainable materials like linen, wool, cotton or recycled textiles. Quality and handmade garments last longer and often become more beautiful over time. Maybe you need to recreate a garment with us?

3. Always second hand first

Shopping second hand is a fantastic way to find your own unique style. You can find quality at a better price, and often in qualities that are difficult to find in today's fast fashion. The colors, materials and garments you notice that you are drawn to also show which garments YOU like. By buying already made garments instead of new, you also reduce the demand for new production, which saves water, energy and emissions from the textile industry.

... or shop REmake/ Slow Fashion

Slow fashion is about creating and consuming fashion in a more conscious way – with respect for the environment, textile workers and the lifespan of the garment. The garments are often made from natural materials or recycled fibers and can be ordered based on your measurements instead of having to try on endlessly until you find something that fits. Slow Fashion also encourages repair, remake and lending. You can support local and small-scale manufacturers like us instead of mass production.

4. Take care of your clothes

Extend the life of your new garments by washing gently, airing instead of washing frequently and repairing small damages immediately. Invest in a clothing care routine with a wool comb, steam iron and environmentally friendly detergents. Also take the opportunity to learn a little sewing and simple mending techniques (socks and jeans, for example). Then you can try mending or re-sewing some of the garments you have sorted out.

5. From now on...

Buy fewer clothes, but better - stick to your newfound style, your color combinations and your personal basics. Think through every purchase and ask yourself and the manufacturer: Is this a garment I will really wear? Does it suit my style? Is it sustainably produced? Who made the garment and where?

THANKS!

Did you know that there is so much textile waste today that, unfortunately, an entire truckload of textiles is dumped on our planet every SECOND...

So THANK YOU for helping to create a better future, where circular thinking is the new normal. At the same time, finding your own personal style helps defy the enormous shopping and trendiness created by Fast Fashion and Ultrafast Fashion.
